LANDSCAPE PLEIN AIRE & HORSES
The term impressionism even today is applied to the works of artists of widely
differing ideas, who have little in common. While keeping distinct the
personalities of the modern artist, there is agreement in the aims and
achievements, however, the adoption of Plein aire, the practice of painting in
open air'.
The impressionist kept to motifs connected with landscape and modern life,
looked upon as a reality and a daily experience. As today, these impressionist
paintings are executed with a very different lightness of spirit, in a sort of
drunkenness of the senses.
